Box Office Manager
The Box Office Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Irish Repertory Theatre box office – ensuring professionalism, accuracy and consistency in all box office operations. The right candidate is outgoing and personable, customer-service minded, detail oriented, collaborative, able to work in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring a positive experience for all Irish Rep patrons. This position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Process ticket sales – phone and in-person orders, maintain accurate box office cash accounts and coordinate will-call pick-ups and transactions.
Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
Ensure and maintain the smooth and consistent running of the computerized ticketing system on both the front and the backend.
Work closely with the Director of Marketing on audience development and group sales.
Work closely with the Development staff on handling of VIP requests, member ticketing, cultivation events and database management.
Work with General Manager on financial processes and creating and generating regular box office reports (including Off Broadway grosses).
Train all additional box office personnel in customer service standards and manage and maintain box office employee schedules.
Manage the Ticket Subsidy Initiative, which provides complimentary tickets to senior centers and other community groups.
Facilitate ticketing and provide general support for the Irish Rep’s annual Gala.
Candidates should be able to maintain good customer relations and have a pleasant personality. Positive Attitude is a must! Applicants should have a flexible schedule with holiday availability and be willing to work within the scheduling needs of the Theatre.
General knowledge of OvationTix strongly preferred. Excellent computer and phone skills required (Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet).

At least 2 years previous box office experience
Some management experience
Experience in customer service and the performing arts
Must have the ability to work with the public and possess conflict resolution skills
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Traditionally we hold one Equity Principal Audition (EPA) call per production, which is always listed in Backstage and/or Playbill. If time allows, we will see non-Equity actors during the EPAs. While we may do casting at other times, those are usually through agent submissions. We do not accept unsolicited headshots or resumes. No phone calls, please.
