on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage
Featuring Gregory Harrington
With Pianist Simon Mulligan
and Special Guests Ciaran Byrne, Ciarán Sheehan, and Sarah Street
Following his sold-out Carnegie Hall concert presented by Irish Repertory Theatre, Gregory Harrington is back on our mainstage. An Irish Rep favorite, previous concerts have sold out in record time; don’t miss this intimate tribute to Brian Friel.
Gregory Harrington delves into the complexities of human relationships, culture, and the Irish identity through the musical tapestry woven into Friel’s works. From Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” Chopin’s “Nocturne,” the Mason’s Apron Reel, and the music of Bill Whelan to Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes,” the audience can expect a diverse range of musically poignant styles and melodic compositions that complement the rich storytelling in Friel’s plays.
“Harrington is a throwback to the rich lyrical strings sounds that evoke the melodic swing of Stephane Grappelli on an alluring session.” – Jazz Weekly
“Spellbinding, world class..” (JazzCorner) and “his musicianship is truly one of a kind” (INK 19) are just some of the accolades that Gregory Harrington received upon the debut of his album, “Without You.”
