See this because seats are selling fast!
Mick Mellamphy has ARRIVED on the stage in New York, not that we haven’t seen his mug over the past 20 years on the NY stage, but today I got to see him perform in a one-man show. I know, I know, we’ve seen him do it before, but today was different.
He has the bravery to mingle with the audience before the show begins, which I could never do… I’m not giving too much away, but depending on where you sit, you might get a drink on the house, or he could nab you to interact in a conversation with him.
What a fantastic script to play. Bravo to Ronán Noone, who tells us the story in poetic verse. And Mick doesn’t just do the character’s voices; he becomes the character.
Honestly, I will have to go back and see it for a second time because I was amazed, just looking at his quirks & mannerisms, which he took on to play each character of 15 in all.
To some of you out there who has someone in your life that doesn’t like the theater, they would LOVE this. It’s like watching an HBO series! Irish meets Mafiosa and a Mexican cartel. Of course, the Powerful female roles added to the story’s backbone!
Fantastic cozy, warm set, in-fact, a room I’d call it as you feel you are in it with him. Fantastic lighting and sound effects! Brilliantly directed by the Young and upcoming Conor Bagley.
PS.
Should it become an HBO series/movie
I want to play the role of Daniella
Congratulations to each and every one of you
