The Opportunity
Irish Repertory Theatre seeks a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Marketing and Design Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative marketing team. This early-career position is ideal for someone passionate about theatre, visual storytelling, and hands-on design work.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Art Director and working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, the Marketing and Design Assistant will support the creation and production of marketing collateral, contribute to content across digital platforms, and take the lead in designing and producing show programs for all Mainstage and Studio productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout show programs from initial templates to final output, in collaboration with internal and external teams — programs are printed in-house using our professional Xerox printer with Fiery server
- Assist with creating and resizing digital and print assets using provided key art files, including postcards, flyers, social graphics, signage, and web banners
- Operate and monitor Irish Rep’s professional Xerox printer with Fiery server for print jobs, including basic upkeep and troubleshooting (with vendor support as needed)
- Support day-to-day social media needs, including content creation, image editing, and caption writing
- Update and manage website and ticketing content using Craft CMS and Spektrix
- Maintain and archive digital assets, including photography, design files, and press materials
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown, and manage the step-and-repeat
- Assist with cross-promotional marketing outreach
- Support grassroots and partnership marketing efforts, including distributing promotional materials
- Assist with capturing behind-the-scenes content during rehearsals, performances, and events
- Attend evening and weekend events when required
- Provide general administrative and project support to the Director of Marketing and Art Director, and the Digital Marketing Manager
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in graphic design or arts marketing (internships welcome)
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop; familiarity with Illustrator, Canva, and basic video editing
- Familiarity with Spektrix, Dotdigital, Craft CMS, and Figma is a plus but not required
- Comfort with digital print workflows and basic troubleshooting
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- Clear written communication and proofreading skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Passion for the performing arts and/or Irish culture is strongly encouraged
Compensation and Benefits
- $25 per hour, 40 hours per week ($52,000 annually)
- 100% employer-paid comprehensive benefits (health, dental, and vision), valued at $16,656 per year
- Participation in a 403(b) retirement plan with a 2% employer match after one year of service
